Can we become "Best team in the world"

Its clear from the T20 debacle that India has a long way to go before we can be called as "best team in the world". Looking at the performances of this tournament, there are plenty of lessons to be learnt for our team.

1. Get the basics right for the short pitch deliveries. In order to win test matches in Australia and South Africa, our batsman need to be have a strong technique to handle these type of deliveries.

2. Get the killer instincts . Where was the killer instinct when Dhoni and Raina were playing in the last 5 overs in today's match. It was clearly lacking. We need to show real inclination to WIN and WIN in any kind of situation.

3. Kick the asses of of Yuvi and Yusuf out for next couple of big tournaments until they perform. Its not necessary to keep on picking players purely based on their reputation. We need to pick players on their merit i.e. current form. They should be picked only after they score heavily in the domestic cricket.

4. Somehow produce a genuine fast bowler with good swing and pace. We are seriously lacking in that department.

5. Last but not the least, make sure that our players give 100% in each and every department. For ex. Today's Gambhir's running was utter pathetic. There is no explanation to that. A test playing cricketer at the highest level of international cricket can not make such silly mistakes.
